“The Man Who Ran” is back with an all new look and sound for 2006.
Opening July 14th,
and running every Friday and Saturday night through August 19th, this
classic story of Jonah, Jesus and the great fish is a crowd pleaser for
all ages. This remix version features an all new musical score composed by
renowned song writer, Scott Mathews of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The play will be
performed live in Disney, Oklahoma at Picture In Scripture Amphitheater’s
new set constructed in 2002 for “The Elijah Factor”. Sporting an all-new
look, “the Man Who Ran” will also feature spectacular special effects and
state–of-the-art surround sound. A cast of 80 in vibrant costumes of the
day plus exotic live animals will take the onlooker back in time when
Jonah ended up in the belly of the great fish!
Located on the shores of Grand Lake near Disney, Oklahoma,
Picture In Scripture Amphitheater has celebrated 22 seasons of outdoor
theater. The amphitheater has been known for its award winning,
spectacular production of “The Man Who Ran”, the dramatic presentation of
Jonah, Jesus and the great fish. This show was the recipient of the
Governor’s Tourism Merit Award for “ Outstanding Attraction” in 1999. In
2004, “The Elijah Factor” received the same distinction of “Outstanding
Attraction” as the recipient of the Grand Lake Association’s Crystal
Pelican Award.
Prior to the show, dinner is available at the Pavilion
adjacent to the amphitheater. Char-broiled hamburgers, grilled chicken,
barbecue and the best catfish on Grand Lake are the menu choices as well
as light concessions.
